What he means by this.. Did I intimidate him?

I got in an argument almost just like this like 2 years ago. I still liked her, and cause she was going out i felt like she had completely forgotten about me. Even though we weren't dating and i was over her, i still didn't want anyone else to have her, even though i was over her. Give him sometime, maybe when you get off of your date and you see him talk it way down like "ehh, it was alright, but i think i would have much rather spent it with one of my best friends" be sure you emphisize friends so you don't lead him on.
